“Rich corporations need to pay their fair share of taxes”. That may be enticing political rhetoric, but it’s an economic fallacy. Corporations don’t pay taxes. While they might have to write a check to Uncle Sam, the money to pay those taxes inevitably comes from the pockets of individuals.
This week, the FAIRtax Guys look at an article written by a former North Carolina state representative that rightfully concludes that the corporate tax rate should be zero—exactly what it would be under the FAIRtax.
