Trump, DOJ settle with IRS over tax return leak

President Donald Trump and the Department of Justice on Monday settled a lawsuit with the IRS over the leak of his tax returns.

Trump sued the IRS for $10 billion in January of this year over the 2023 incident in which IRS contractor Charles Littejohn leaked his personal tax records. Littlejohn pleaded guilty and received a five-year prison sentence.

The scope of the settlement was not immediately clear, though Trump's attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the case on Monday, Politico reported.
