CALL TO ACTION: DOUG’S SELF-ASSIGNED PROJECT

Doug Dash of Collingswood, New Jersey, has assigned himself a project – now we need your help in the Grassroots.

In July Doug undertook to contact the offices of Republican Members of Congress who are FAIRtax co-sponsors. He asked them to contact their Republican colleagues from their states who have not yet co-sponsored the FAIRtax.

Peers can influence peers. Consider this account. Several years ago, Doug and fellow New Jersey FAIRtax-ers, John O’Rourke and Jerry McManus, went to visit Congresswoman (now Senator) Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee.  They convinced her to co-sponsor the FAIRtax by pointing out that two of her colleagues from Tennessee were co-sponsors, and she wasn’t.

In his calls, Doug points out that Vice President Pence was a FAIRtax co-sponsor when he was a Congressman from Indiana.  Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee is also a staunch FAIRtax proponent. Both men are close to President Trump.

Now it’s your turn.  If you live in a Republican Congressional district and your Representative is not a FAIRtax co-sponsor, reach out to him or her.  Point out the other Representatives from your state who are co-sponsors and ask your Representative to join them.

Scroll down to find a list of Republican Representatives in your state who are not co-sponsors.  If you live in one of the districts listed, please use the contact information there to reach out to your Representative and ask him or her to join their colleagues from your state who are co-sponsoring the FAIRtax.

Report back to me when you complete your action, whether or not it led to anything. If it did, great!

It would be good to put up a few more co-sponsors on our scoreboard during the waning months of the 116th Congress.

If you want to undertake a project similar to Doug’s, please let me know when you are ready for me to send out a call to action through Grassroots Corner.

Yours In Liberty!

Jim Bennett
