Meet Jeff Minch
Jeff Minch
We have a potential fundraiser who knows every politician and donor in North Carolina. Meet Jeff Minch. Our President, Steve Hayes, met Jeff through Jeff Carter, a member of our Advisory Board.
Jeff always showed an interest in fiscal policy, believing people have a right to keep the money they earn. He can trace this principle to when he received his first paycheck and questioned the deductions.
Jeff was intrigued by the simplicity and fairness of the FAIRtax. Jeff sees the current tax code, with its pages of bureaucratic nuance, as impossible to follow. The current code favors those who can hire lawyers and puts others at a marked disadvantage.
Jeff believes the size of the government is out of control, not even counting the 87,000 new IRS agents. He is concerned about the country's future and calls for more involvement from young people.
Jeff has a remarkable career history. He worked on a presidential campaign as an intern in college, then took a semester off, and, following work on another campaign, went into public finance and investment banking. He focused on public universities and tax-exempt financing. Jeff honed his skills in public-private partnerships, including hotel development in Charlotte, North Carolina. There he saw government bureaucracy first-hand, including an arduous approval process.
Jeff’s career took an unexpected turn during a special election in North Carolina’s Ninth Congressional District in 2019. Republican Mark Harris had narrowly defeated Democrat Dan McCready in November 2018, but the Election Board ordered a do-over. Harris stepped aside, and Republican Dan Bishop stepped in. So, one day, Jeff was an investment banker, and the next day, he found himself the Finance Director of the second most expensive special election in U.S. history. Jeff recalls there being a ton of media coverage. Despite the Democrat being heavily favored, Bishop won that race. Jeff found more fulfillment in that work, noting that it is still finance-related.
Jeff has reached out to every member of the North Carolina Congressional delegation. Those members know that FAIRtax is here.
Jeff knows how to compile a comprehensive plan to fuel the message, and he is working on one for us. Our President Steve Hayes notes that Jeff got us an incredible deal for a table at the North Carolina Republican Convention. People respond to him. He is important to the many political leaders in North Carolina. Steve also notes that the DeSantis Team tried to hire Jeff as a fundraiser, but Jeff would, “rather work on FAIRtax.”
We will be reporting on Jeff as events develop. Do you know someone like Jeff Minch? If you do, I would love to hear from you.
