FAIRtax leader Carol Ann Chouinard of Claremore, Oklahoma, passed away on August 16, 2020 at age 73. She was born in Springfield, Vermont.
Carol is survived by her sons, Mark Chouinard and his wife, Stephanie, and Shawn Chouinard and his wife, Jackie. She had four grandchildren and two great grandchildren
Carol worked on the FAIRtax for the Oklahoma chapter, since 1999. She has participated in every event the chapter sponsored, including the Fair Tax booth at the Tulsa State Fair, and the Post Office every April 15. Carol also worked to promote “Unfair, the movie”.
Carol would advocate for the FAIRTax to anyone who would listen. Many did, including radio audiences in and around Tulsa.
Carol also worked on the Platform Committee for the Republican Party of Oklahoma to promote the FAIRTax as a platform item. The Report of the Oklahoma Republican Platform Committee for 2013 contained the following language on Page 29 under the heading “Federal Budget and Taxation:”
“…
“10. We support replacing the current income tax with a form of taxation such as the Fair Tax that does not penalize productivity and capital formation.
“…”
Without Carol, there would have been no mention of the FAIRtax.
Carol also worked on FAIRTax at the national level.
Carol was a tireless advocate for the FAIRTax. She was fun to work with and a true friend. Her Fair Tax family will miss her greatly.
Yours In the FAIRtax Movement!
