MEET JAKE BUSCHER

The FAIRtax movement has benefited from gifted leadership, but the aging of its board members has been a challenge. To address this issue, the previous Board of Directors has been actively recruiting the next generation of leaders. The new leaders have become the new Board of Directors, and the immediate past Board of Directors is now the Executive Board.
This Grassroots Corner continues this series of introductions with Jake Buscher. We wrote about Jake in January 2025. Jacob Buscher is the Virginia State leader for FairTax and an entrepreneur with extensive operational experience in the construction and service sectors. As the founder of a seven-figure construction firm and co-owner of a residential waste management company that doubled its revenue in the last year, Jacob brings to the Board a direct understanding of how the current tax code stifles business growth.
His practical expertise is supported by an academic background in Business and Financial Planning from Liberty University and deep engagement in economic theory. Jacob is also the creator of Cutting the Gordian Knot, a widely distributed philosophy and economics podcast where he interviews prominent scholars, demonstrating his ability to communicate complex policy effectively.
Previously, he served as an Economic Advisor to a state campaign, where he successfully reshaped the candidate’s platform, and he lobbies Congressional offices to advance the FairTax mission.
Jake lives in Waynesboro, Virginia, with his wife, Christina, and their young son.
I would love to hear from you if you know someone like Jake Buscher.
