MEET JOSHUA CHITWOOD

The FAIRtax movement has benefited from gifted leadership, but the aging of its board members has been a challenge. To address this issue, the previous Board of Directors has been actively recruiting the next generation of leaders. The new leaders have become the new Board of Directors, and the immediate past Board of Directors is now the Executive Board.
This Grassroots Corner is the second profile of the members of the new Board, continuing with Joshua Chitwood.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Joshua is driven by a simple but powerful belief that systems work best when they’re clear, efficient, and accountable. A 2023 graduate of the Colorado School of Mines with a B.S. in Mining Engineering, Joshua combines his engineering background with a deep interest in finance, data, and organizational improvement. He currently serves as a plant optimization engineer for the largest construction aggregate producer in the United States, where he focuses on improving efficiency, teaching continuous improvement principles, and driving measurable results through data-driven decision-making.
Joshua has also participated in mining finance and investment competitions centered on technical due diligence, valuation, and financial modeling — experiences that deepened his analytical approach to solving complex problems.
Joshua is an active member of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration and volunteers for various organizations such as the Second Wind Fund Suicide Prevention and Ski-a-Thon fundraiser.
Joshua’s introduction to the FAIRtax movement in 2023 by a longtime family friend resonated with his belief in fairness, fiscal discipline, and transparency. He is passionate about simplifying the tax code, reducing government waste, and promoting policies that strengthen public trust and economic growth.
Grounded, family-oriented, and optimistic, Joshua brings both analytical precision and practical leadership to the mission of building a simpler, more accountable system for all Americans.
I would love to hear from you if you know someone like Joshua.
