LETTER TO THE DAHLONEGA NUGGET
This week’s Grassroots Corner is a letter from our longtime Georgia supporters, Mike and Marian Warlick, to their local newspaper, The Dahlonega Nugget. The letter reads:
A Golden Opportunity to End the Income Tax
I am as excited as any Conservative to learn about the changes that Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are planning to make in the new year. However, I also understand that any permanent changes must be made by amendments to our Constitution, just like the 27 we already have. (But how to amend the Constitution when the Beast will neither listen nor act? COSAction.com.) Most amendments are good ones, but a few need to be changed or repealed. For example, the 16th Amendment, which made the income tax Constitutional, is the single greatest overreach of Federal Power ever. Repeal it. Some will also argue that the 14th (birthright citizenship, due process, and equal protection) and 17th (direct election of Senators) amendments should either be repealed or revised.
I am never shy about pointing out that the greatest enabler of THE DC BEAST, as it is being called, is the onerous Income Tax, which ratification of the 16th amendment made possible in 1913. For the last 112 years, the Income Tax has so conditioned us that we can’t even feel or see the yoke around our necks and the loss of our freedoms. In this last election, the American people rose up to say ENOUGH of the Beast and the direction he has been taking us. It is the Income Tax that feeds the Beast.
I don’t dispute the need to pay our taxes or to fund the Federal Government; I dispute how we pay our taxes. I believe the FAIRtax (www.fairtax.org) is the best replacement for the onerous, invasive Income Tax, with its enforcement arm, the weaponized IRS. I'm not asking everyone to sign on to FAIRtax; the FAIRtax research can and will stand on its own. What do I ask American taxpayers to do to END THE INCOME TAX and to keep another generation from suffering under its yoke? SPEAK UP – LOUDLY – ACROSS THE LAND. Write to, call, email, even send a carrier pigeon to your Congressman/woman and your U.S. Senators, State and Federal. END THE INCOME TAX! 🥁
Trump understands full well how the Income Tax benefits only the Beast. He used it, and he is using it to this day. Why? Because legally, he can. Trump has stated that he would like to end the Income Tax. I believe we have a golden opportunity to do so during his term, but it will require beating the drum loudly and constantly. We can start by beating it loudly here in Georgia to our State Representatives and Senators: end the Georgia State Income Tax now.
I have a dream, that one day in America, our children will enjoy April 15th as just another beautiful spring day.
