MARK KAYE SIGNS THE FAIRTAX PLEDGE

Our Florida FAIRtax State Director, Paul Livingston, landed a new FAIRtax pledge signer. The flamboyant Mark Kaye is running for Congress as a Republican in the Fifth Congressional District of Florida. The district is in the Northeastern corner of the state, but about twenty miles short of the Georgia state line. It includes the southeastern part of Jacksonville and extends to the oldest city in the United States, Saint Augustine.
Mark Kaye is a media personality and political figure.[i] There, he expounds on the news of the day, giving it a conservative twist. People know him primarily as a radio host, podcaster, TV contributor, and content creator.
So, how did we snag Mark Kaye? To sum it up in one word: persistence. Paul Livingston had been trying to meet Kaye, and he finally got a break. At the Orange Park Fall Festival (see our Grassroots Corner from January 12, 2026), Paul met Kaye’s campaign manager. The manager gave Paul the date and time for Kaye's speaking engagement at a restaurant. At the restaurant, a small group gathered. Kaye already knew about the FAIRtax and raised it several times during his talk. Paul, of course, had the FAIRtax pledge ready to go. When the speech ended, Paul presented the pledge with the blanks pre-filled, and the rest is history:

Kaye had worked elsewhere, including Washington, D.C. (WIHT “Hot 99.5”) and New Jersey (WBBO “B98.5”).
His show at WOKV ended in early 2024. Kaye shifted his focus to digital media and launched new political podcasts, including "Mark Kaye Saves The Republic!" featuring his conservative commentary and analysis. He continues to engage audiences across platforms such as Rumble, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube. Kaye often refers to his followers as “Kayetriots.”
Kaye, for a fee, trains clients to become successful podcasters themselves.
Kaye lives in Jacksonville, Florida, with his family
Kaye’s Congressional campaign prioritizes, in addition to the FAIRtax, cutting taxes and abolishing the IRS (his inspiration for signing the FAIRtax pledge); slashing spending and shrinking government, passing a term-limits amendment to the Constitution, keeping the border secure, supporting veterans, and protecting parents’ rights.
Kaye will face incumbent John Rutherford in the Republican primary if Rutherford runs again. Rutherford is 73. Rutherford is a cosponsor of the FAIRtax. Paul plans to meet with him.
As much as we love our cosponsors, existing and potential, FAIRtax’s tax status with the IRS does not freely allow us to support or oppose candidates for public office. But we gladly inform the public about where candidates such as Mark Kaye stand on the FAIRtax. If you know someone like Mark, I would love to hear from you.
