SPECIAL GRASSROOTS CORNER
DOGE IS HIRING!
How would you like to work eighty hours per week for no pay? If that opportunity sounds attractive, the Department of Government Efficiency is for you.
As you might have heard, President-elect Trump has put Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy in charge of a new Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE, and they are now taking resumes. DOGE is not an actual federal department or agency. It is a Presidential advisory commission outside the federal government that President-elect Trump has asked Musk and Ramaswamy to head up.
Elon is looking for the "Top 1%" of applicants who must be "super high-IQ" and willing to work 80-plus-hour weeks to help them figure out ways to eliminate duplication and waste in the federal government and make it run more efficiently. Elon writes, "Indeed, this will be tedious work, make lots of enemies & compensation is zero.”
There may be an opportunity at DOGE for qualified and motivated FAIRtax-ers to work on the inside for tax reform.
So, how does one apply? DOGE's post on X asks prospective applicants to send their resumes via direct message to its X account, @DOGE. At first, the @DOGE X account was open only to X users with a paid subscription, but it appears now to accept direct messages from all X users. So, you need an X account. It's unclear if an official DOGE website will come with a more traditional application process.
If working long hours at a tedious job for no pay is not for you, you can direct message @DOGE using X with suggestions to make the federal government run better. One way to make the government run better, of course, is to switch from today’s bloated and inefficient tax system to the FAIRtax.
I would love to hear if you have success interacting with DOGE and would like to thank Cary Henderson, CA, for suggesting this idea.
