CALL TO ACTION: TRUMP TEASES ELIMINATING THE INCOME TAX - ACT NOW!

Photo Credit: Newsweek, November 28, 2925

In a Thanksgiving message delivered from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, President Trump again teased eliminating income taxes through tariffs, and we need you to act.

The President referred to investment commitments from other nations, pledges by companies to expand their production presence in the U.S., and revenue from his import taxes. The President went on to state: "Over the next couple of years, I think we'll substantially be cutting—and maybe cutting out completely—income tax, … We could be almost completely cutting it because the money we're taking in is going to be so large."

As we FAIRtax-ers know, tariff revenue, no matter how great, would be insufficient to replace the $3 trillion-plus in revenue that the income tax raises. In a Grassroots Corner dated September 9, 2024, we noted:

“Robert Persichitte, CPA, CFP, CFE, affiliate professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver, [stated], ‘Let’s do some simple math under the assumption that we don’t need to fix the deficit: Income tax gives us $3.29 trillion in revenue. Our total imports are $3.8 trillion. Therefore, we would need nearly a 100% increase in tariffs without people switching to cheaper alternatives, which is not a realistic outcome. …

‘Poorer Americans pay lower taxes, and in the case of many low-income seniors, they pay no taxes. Their income wouldn’t change, but their bills would double.’ ”

The FAIRtax is the only realistic way to replace the dreaded income tax. Contact your House of Representatives member and demand that they co-sponsor HR25 in the House of Representatives, if they have not done so already. Contact your two U.S. Senators and demand that they sponsor a companion bill in the Senate. For your Representative, go to their website at [MEMBERNAME]. House.gov. For each of your senators, go to [SENATORNAME].Senate.gov. Tell them the President discussed eliminating the income tax this past Thanksgiving, and that the only way to do so is to pass the Fair Tax Act of 2025 and sponsor a companion bill in the Senate. If you prefer to call, the House and Senate joint switchboard telephone number is (202) 224-3121. A meeting in your state or congressional district is also effective.

Please let me know how you did.
