Are you in a licensed profession, or even a professional or business group? If so, you have an exceptional opportunity to help make The FAIRtax happen.
Our newest board member, Jade Walle, a CPA and partner in a Big 4 public accounting firm, submitted his article to The Oklahoma Society Of CPAs entitled "Re-vision For Oklahoma Tax Reform".
Click here to read Jade's article which appeared in the July/August 2020 issue of the Society's magazine for its over 6,000 members, CPAFOCUS.
At the end of the first page, and throughout the rest of the article, Jade launches into The FAIRtax. Jade highlights the states considering a state-level consumption tax based on The FAIRtax to replace their current income and sales-and-use tax systems. He discusses the math and the administrative ease with which Oklahoma could change to such a system.
Are you a lawyer? Here is an idea. In New York and New Jersey, as in most states, lawyers have to sit through 24 hours, every two years, of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) to maintain their licenses. Most lectures, live or video, last one or two hours. The seminars need not be in a lawyer's area of practice, and there is no post-lecture examination on the materials.
Write a curriculum for presentation in either a one-hour or two-hour segment about The FAIRtax bill and send it to a CLE provider’s curriculum committee. Your focus would have to be more on the bill and less on the plan's dynamic benefits. But the course offering would still be a win-win. Lawyers would receive CLE Credit, and The FAIRtax would receive some favorable publicity. Even tax lawyers would choose to tune in.
Are you a healthcare provider? For sure, The FAIRtax doesn’t change human anatomy, but The FAIRtax does make the delivery of healthcare more available and affordable. The FAIRtax also brings patient and doctor closer together.
The American Medical Association publishes a magazine called "JAMA - The Journal Of The American Medical Association”. Their address is AMA Plaza, 330 N Wabash Avenue, Suite 39300, Chicago IL 60611-5885. The Journal publishes mostly scientific medical articles but sometimes publishes opinion pieces on the healthcare system. Submit manuscripts to https://manuscripts.jama.com Contact JAMA at jamams@jamanetwork.org or call 312-464-4444. If JAMA doesn’t run your article, perhaps a publication which focuses more squarely on healthcare administration will.
Are you a realtor? You can write an article about how The FAIRtax, as opposed to the flat income-tax, encourages real estate sales volume. Send your item to REALTOR® Magazine, the publication of the National Association Of Realtors, 430 N Michigan Avenue, Chicago IL 60611-4087 or call 312-670-7827.
Our website has several industry-specific writeups under the Menu “Research”, including Agriculture, Business, Finance/Investing, Industry, and Real Estate. If you are in any of those fields, you can use the material to send a writeup to your professional or trade association.
Let me hear your ideas for publishing in your field. Or even better, send me a copy of your article, regardless of whether it is published!
Yours In Liberty!
