WE HEARD YOU AND MADE CHANGES TO THE HANDBOOK
About a year and a half ago, we introduced a handbook for FAIRtax Grassroots Leaders, and your feedback has brought changes. The previous version of the handbook responded to the question, “How can I help?” The handbook was our first attempt at a list of responsibilities and tasks to guide a new leader.
We knew when we introduced the handbook that it would quickly become obsolete as circumstances changed. The handbook is now on a 9-month feedback cycle. Thanks to that feedback, we uploaded a 2026 version to the website, which you can find and download at “Get Involved” > “Make a Difference.” Click: https://fairtax.org/about/make-a-difference.
The most noteworthy change is our strategy. The new handbook highlights our focus on President Trump, who appears to be the first President with a stated aversion to the income tax. If we can flip Trump, he will do our work for us. The handbook states that we also continue to follow our previous strategies.
Several other noteworthy changes follow:
We added John Gaver’s book to the training materials and a reference to Jake Buscher’s flash cards. We also feature candidate training videos.
We added Missouri to the list of states where there are calls to eliminate the personal income tax.
We changed our Nebraska contact to Earl Visser and added Jim Duffie to our Georgia contact information.
We need a new volunteer for the Speakers Bureau.
We updated the candidate pledge.
Finally, the old Board of Directors is now the Executive Board, and there is a new Board of Directors. Several months ago, we actively recruited a younger board to represent the FAIRtax, which is now in place. The new Board is off to a great start.

We plan to revisit the handbook every nine months to ensure it is current and provides valuable information to you, our grassroots leaders. I would love to hear from you on how we can continue to improve it.
