The FAIRtax, can it pass?
When discussing the aspects and advantages of the FAIRtax, I am often asked if I think it can really get done.
Those more cynical by nature often offer their opinions with the typical refrain being that it will never pass! The political reality is that the deck is just stacked too heavily against us and entrenched interests in the current income tax system are too formidable to overcome.
Given the current seemingly socialist tailwinds and the responses offered above, it is certainly easy to be cynical today. However, for those of us who think eliminating the income tax and replacing it with the FAIRtax is a groundbreaking idea, here are some encouraging words and food for thought.
Americans have been some of the most creative, innovative, and resilient people in human history. I suppose the real question I would pose to those that hang their head in the dread of disappointment and disillusionment is whether the FAIRtax is worth the fight? Are our families, our country, way of life, and prosperity worth safeguarding and protecting? Further, aren’t the best victories of all those that seemed the most insurmountable to achieve?
The enactment of the FAIRtax with a total replacement of the income, payroll, investment, gift, and estate taxes certainly would be an incredible victory worthy of celebration! Many of those that have fought long and hard for a simple, efficient, and visible system of U.S. taxation have strategized numerous ways to make the FAIRtax the law of the land.
It is a work in progress, to be sure, and many FAIRtax advocates have various approaches and opinions that are all worthy of consideration. Today’s discussion is not to talk strategy however, but rather, to discuss our motivation and our spirit.
The first proposal for a women’s suffrage amendment was introduced in 1878. Heros like Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Stanton worked tirelessly for decades to win women the right to vote. What if Susan B. Anthony had thrown in her ornate, feathered late 19th century hat when the obstacles against her appeared never-ending? What if they believed the naysayers when they said the political reality is that women will never be able to vote in our country?
In the end, it took over 40 years of persistent campaigning, state-level victories, and legal challenges before the 19th amendment was finally passed and ratified in 1920. In 2026, an America where a woman does not have the right to vote is unthinkable. The women’s suffrage movement is a lesson in persistence for us all of us.
Americans have always had a knack for achieving what seemed at the time to be impossible. We have led the way on countless inventions and innovations that we in today’s day and age simply could not imagine living without. For example, Americans invented powered flight in 1903. The early 1900’s saw the mass production of the automobile.
How about Thomas Edison’s light bulb in 1879? Here’s one that our youth would definitely attest that they cannot live without, that being Alexander Graham Bell’s 1876 invention of the telephone.
To name just a few more, Americans are also responsible for the 1947 invention of the transistor, the cornerstone of modern-day electronics such as computers and smartphones. Jonas Salk’s polio vaccine created in 1955, has saved countless millions of lives around the world. A U.S. Department of Defense project created the 1969 foundation of what we know today as the internet. Can we imagine our lives without any of these?
What about other inventions like the personal computer, GPS technology, MRIs, pacemakers, hearing aids, EpiPens, the assembly line, credit cards, ATMs, microwave ovens, lasers, solar cells, 3D printers, and video games? I forgot to mention that in 1969, Americans were the first to land a human being on another planetary body, the moon.
Can you imagine how hard you would have been ridiculed if you had suggested anything remotely close to landing a man on the moon just 100 years earlier in 1869? Simply put, as Americans we have always delivered the impossible and done so against all odds.
Let these stories rejuvenate your soul and help renew our efforts to bring about the most transformative piece of legislation since the 14th Amendment in 1866, and the original Bill of Rights.
The income tax was brought about in 1913 by playing on humanity’s worst inclination, that of envy and greed. Let’s end this historical abomination by enacting the FAIRtax. Let’s make paying taxes voluntary, when you choose to purchase new goods or services.
Let’s choose to make America the world’s tax haven with no income, payroll, estate, gift, or investment taxes of any kind! Let’s deliver Americans freedom from civil asset forfeiture, tax courts, 90,000 pages of income tax legislation and rules, and most notably, from the IRS!
Americans have been innovative, creative, and resilient from day one. We have never given up! Let’s raise our game and add the FAIRtax to this impressive list of U.S. accomplishments, once again providing a bright light and model for the world to follow.
CONCLUSION
As Jade makes clear, many vital changes in our past took many years to accomplish but if we persist, we can make the FAIRtax a reality.
The FAIRtax Act (H.R. 25) is more than just a proposal for a retail sales tax; it is a fundamental restructuring of the federal fiscal structure and makes our labor and our earnings “sacrosanct”.
Unlike other excise taxes which normally are applied to specific products and in different percentage amounts, the FAIRtax applies a 23% rate to all new retail products and retail services.
THE FAIRTAX IS THE ANSWER.
The FAIRtax is a national retail sales tax on new retail goods and retail services which provides a family credit so that all purchases up to the poverty level for each family are not taxed. There is no withholding from your paycheck, and YOU NEVER HAVE TO FILE A TAX RETURN TELLING THE GOVERNMENT HOW MUCH YOU EARNED AND HOW MUCH YOU SPENT, AND YOU’LL NEVER BE HARASSED BY THE IRS EVER AGAIN.
Many of you have labored tirelessly for freedom from the federal income tax and the IRS. You deserve a great deal of credit for your efforts to educate the American people on the need to fund the American government in a way that is good for America and returns freedom to the American people.
It is imperative, though, that we don’t replace the current income tax and the IRS with an alternative system that can still be manipulated by the Ruling Elite. We must let Congress and the President know that the best way to replace the income tax and the IRS is with the FAIRtax.
Make no mistake about it. The FAIRtax is a grave threat to the Ruling Elites. It will strip them of their power and their ability to control us though the tax system. Their opposition to the FAIRtax will be fierce and unrelenting. And don’t think for an instant that they won’t use half-truths, deception and downright lies in their desperate attempt to hang on to their power.
However, with the support of this President, we can finally eliminate the income tax and the IRS!!!
Of course, the best course of action is to not only repeal the income tax and abolish the IRS but to repeal the 16th Amendment as well so no future administration can ever shackle the American people with an income tax again.
We must come together and ensure that real tax reform, the FAIRtax, is not subverted by the Elites in D.C.
