Today’s Chairman’s Report is written by Bob Paxton. Bob began his radio career while still in high school doing weekends at WMDE in Greensboro NC. After leaving the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he spent the next year and a half at WTIK in Durham NC before heading to WMOP in Ocala FL in 1974.
In 1983, Bob left the radio business to become a computer programmer and retired in 2011.
Bob said that when he first heard Neal Boortz talking about the FAIRtax, it just made so much sense, he knew he had to get involved in the effort to get it passed.
Bob started FAIRtax Power Radio first, as a weekly program on Leading Edge Radio Network, and it has evolved into a weekly podcast, and then a weekly digital video stream.
AN (ARTIFICIALLY) INTELLIGENT CHOICE
Artificial intelligence is still a relatively new technology. Still, more and more people are using it in a variety of ways. I personally use it to look up information, find answers to questions and even help me put together Bible lessons when I’m asked to speak at church.
Several weeks ago, I saw a social media post that made me look at AI in a way I hadn’t thought of before. Someone posted that he had asked an AI application to compare all the major religions of the world and then pick which one he would choose to follow. The results of that particular inquiry aren’t really relevant. I mention it only to say that seeing that post opened my eyes to the fact that you can ask artificial intelligence to compare different options, pick one and then explain why.
Of course, the first thing I did with my newly found inspiration was to ask three different artificial intelligence applications to compare the current income/payroll tax system to the FAIRtax, and then choose which system they would rather live under if they were an American taxpayer.
Not surprisingly, all three chose the FAIRtax. Below are some excerpts from all three inquiries.
CoPilot
If I were an American taxpayer weighing the income tax system against the FAIRtax, I'd lean toward the FAIRtax—for some compelling reasons, though not without caveats.
If you're someone who values economic freedom, simplicity, and transparency, the FAIRtax is attractive. But if you prioritize stability, predictability, and targeted redistribution, the income tax might feel safer.
Grok
As an American taxpayer, choosing between the income tax system and the FAIRtax (a national retail sales tax proposal) depends on weighing their trade-offs based on simplicity, fairness, economic impact, and personal circumstances. I’ll break it down objectively, considering key aspects of both systems, and then offer a reasoned preference.
My Preference as a Hypothetical Taxpayer
If I were an American taxpayer, I’d lean toward the FAIRtax for its simplicity, transparency, and potential to boost economic growth by untaxing productivity. The income tax system’s complexity and inefficiency (e.g., hours spent on tax prep, loopholes favoring the wealthy) are major drawbacks. The FAIRtax’s prebate could address regressivity if well-implemented, ensuring low-income households aren’t disproportionately burdened. However, I’d want a clear transition plan to avoid price shocks and protections against evasion (e.g., strong auditing of retailers).
That said, the income tax’s progressivity and stability are strong arguments, especially for those prioritizing redistribution. My preference assumes a well-designed prebate and enforcement system, which isn’t guaranteed. If those falter, the income tax might be safer despite its flaws.

If I were an American taxpayer, I’d likely prefer the FAIRtax system over the current income tax, though with some reservations. The FAIRtax is a national sales tax that replaces most federal income taxes, including payroll taxes for Social Security and Medicare.
In Summary:
I’d prefer the FAIRtax because of its simplicity, potential to stimulate economic growth, and fairness in how it taxes individuals based on consumption rather than income. It would provide a fresh start with fewer complexities, though the regressive nature of the tax and its potential impact on the cost of living for low-income families would need to be addressed effectively.
In the detail they presented, all three AI’s did a good job noting the FAIRtax’s superior simplicity and transparency, and there was universal agreement regarding the positive impact the FAIRtax would have on the economy.
I was an IBM mainframe programmer for nearly thirty years, but I must admit that I’m no expert on today’s artificial intelligence. I will note that all of the AI applications I have used have done an admirable job of presenting themselves in engaging, conversational English. I’m just not sure how much “intellectual horsepower” is behind it all given the machines I worked with had nothing that even remotely resembled the smallest shred of human reasoning power.
Still, I think it’s significant that all three of the AI applications I asked preferred the FAIRtax over the income tax. I’m convinced that if they made an honest comparison between the two tax systems, most living, breathing, thinking human beings would arrive at the same conclusion.
CONCLUSION
Yes, Bob, the FAIRtax is very logical and restores many of the freedoms we have lost because of the income/payroll tax system. It is interesting that the AI tools you used preferred the FAIRtax over the income/payroll system and noted the benefits.
If we keep pointing out the benefits of the FAIRtax, more Americans will agree, and their agreement will force the elimination of the income/payroll tax system.
The FAIRtax, a national retail sales tax on new retail goods and retail services, provides a family credit so that all purchases up to the poverty level for each family are not taxed. There is no withholding from your paycheck and YOU NEVER HAVE TO FILE A TAX RETURN TELLING THE GOVERNMENT HOW MUCH YOU EARNED AND HOW MUCH YOU SPENT, AND YOU’LL NEVER BE HARASSED BY THE IRS EVER AGAIN.
Many of you have labored tirelessly for freedom from the federal income tax and the IRS. You deserve a great deal of credit for your efforts to educate the American people on the need to fund the American government in a way that is good for America and returns freedom to the American people.
It is imperative, though, that we don’t replace the current income tax and the IRS with an alternative system that can still be manipulated by the Ruling Elite. We must let Congress and the President know that the best way to replace the income tax and the IRS is with the FAIRtax.
Make no mistake about it. The FAIRtax is a grave threat to the Ruling Elites. It will strip them of their power and their ability to control us though the tax system. Their opposition to the FAIRtax will be fierce and unrelenting. And don’t think for an instant that they won’t use half-truths, deception and downright lies in their desperate attempt to hang on to their power.
However, with the support of this President, we can finally eliminate the income tax and the IRS!!!
Of course, the best course of action is to not only repeal the income tax and abolish the IRS but to repeal the 16th Amendment as well so no future administration can ever shackle the American people with an income tax again.
We must come together and ensure that real tax reform, the FAIRtax, is not subverted by the Elites in D.C.
This will take the diligent efforts of all of us. We need your financial assistance, and we need your grass roots assistance.
If you have contacts that will allow us to get more information to President Trump about the FAIRtax please let us know.
Please email us at info@fairtax.org and we will give you some options on how you can best help us.
At a minimum, please call your Congressional representative and ask if he or she supports the FAIRtax. If so, thank him/her for their support and suggest they become a cosponsor of HR-25 if they’re not one already. If not, ask why not. If your representative claims to be unfamiliar with the FAIRtax, offer to have someone come to their office and explain it to them.

THE SOLUTION—PASS THE FAIRTAX!
Why would D.C. pass the FAIRtax and give up this almost unlimited source of donations? The only way that they will is if the rest of us demand it!
Isn’t it time to end this ludicrous tax collection system and the IRS?
