Trump-A-Paloosa! at The Riverside Arts Market
Florida continues to earn its rep as a hotbed of FAIRtax activity. The spotlight goes first to The Riverside Arts Market in Jacksonville.
This market takes place every Saturday, 10am - 3pm, rain or shine. FAIRtax District Director Paul Livingston (FL-04 & FL-05) was there on 9/21/19 and writes:
“… Red, Kathleen, Dennis, thanks for all your help, time and FAIRtax enthusiasm! We met our goal of 30 Individuals with 26 providing an email-address. Better yet was the $41 in donations about 4x the usual amount.
An extra Thank You to Dennis as he brought to the booth a big bowl with 2 bags of miniature candy bars as free hand outs. Was this the difference maker? Free candy for the kids...free tax relief for the adults”.
When I asked Paul what’s his secret to getting so many signups, Paul replied: “The FAIRtax is a very highly liked idea, with over 80% acceptance rate.
One thing I do is hold in one hand the palm card and below the logo the business card in front of it (both pieces of literature are available from The FAIRtax Store by clicking here and should be ordered in equal quantities and handed out together).
Then when I make eye contact, or someone is looking at the booth, I extend out and rotate my arm as if I am offering the 2 pieces of literature to them. If I get any attention I will then say, if a more mature person, “End the IRS!” or, if younger, “Keep your whole pay check”, while continuing to rotate the hand offering the literature.
If they approach the booth I will ask, Do you know about The FAIRtax? to start the interaction. If interest is shown after a dialog of Q&A, I take a pen, extend it out while pointing at the signup sheet and ask, Would you like to show your support?
After they signup we ring a bell to show success”.
You can’t argue with his success.
FAIRtax also made an appearance at a “Trump-A-Paloosa” event. [In previous Grassroots Corners we have made it clear, The FAIRtax graces events for both sides of the political aisle].
FAIRtax State Director Ron Maiellaro, writes: “First I want thank Paul Livingston for all he did at the 10/5/19 event. He was the 1st to arrive and one of the last to leave.
You’ll see in the attached photos, the 10’ tent he set up really made our booth stand out from all the others.
In addition to Paul, Bob Paxton, Elaine and I, Steve and Paula Hayes were also attending. You’ll see in an upcoming episode of FAIRtax Power Radio President Steve Hayes and an interesting interview with President Trump (aka Doppelgänger John Morgan).
A great effort all around and an enjoyable day.
Also, … the organizers gave us a second booth at no extra charge. This is where we set up the camera and microphone for recording the segments for FAIRtax Power Radio. Bob interviewed a number of attendees and other vendors plus we threw in an interview with a President or two.
In addition to the interviews and explanations of the FAIRtax we received several more requests for presentations including one repeat visit.
In spite of the less than expected attendance, it was still a useful event for us when considering the additional requests for presentations and the people who didn’t know much about The FAIRtax but, after our explanation, were interested enough to take additional info and promised to learn more. This included one candidate for Congress, Jose Castillo (FL-9).
Thanks again to All who helped out.”
