REPORT FROM OUR POINT PERSON IN ARIZONA
Alex Meluskey, our State Director, in Arizona, reported in at the end of May following a trip to D.C. He’s obviously been busy. Here is what Alex had to say.
“I seemed to get some good reception with my Arizona GOP Representatives in D.C. last week regarding HR25 [the FAIRtax]. I had to reschedule Biggs [Andy Biggs, representing Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District] for this or next week back home here in Arizona. I’ve continued conversations with David Schweickert [representing Arizona’s Sixth Congressional District], one of the best numbers guys in DC, and believe there may be acceptance of the FAIRtax solution down the road. The Lesko staffer [Debbie Lesko, representing Arizona’s Eighth Congressional District] on taxes was very interested and promised to get more into it. Gosar [Paul Gosar, D.D.S., representing Arizona’s Fourth Congressional District], I believe I messaged it correctly. [And writing as of June 15, 2019] I just had a good second call with Ruben Gallego’s office yesterday [representing Arizona’s Seventh Congressional District]. Very interested and thanks to new FAIRtax volunteer, JT, for setting this up.“
“On a Senate level, McSally staffer [Martha McSally] was likely not the proper person to talk to on it. Specialist in another area I was lobbying for.”
“Congressional staffers are not familiar with the FAIRtax. I wish we could educate them all so more representatives would know of the FAIRTax solution.
“I will follow up”
Great work, Alex! Keep it up and let others draw inspiration from you.
Mr. Meluskey attended The College of New Jersey receiving a BA. In 1993 Alex founded Optimum Graphics USA, LLC, a printing, promotional marketing company that he still owns and operates. He is the marketing director for a publically traded blockchain company and a media company. In 2016 Alex ran for United States Senate in Arizona, where he garnered a significant political base, which he continues to engage and grow in expectation for his run for US House of Representatives in 2022.
