Grassroots Corner - August 2, 2019

FAIRtax Volunteers often appear where we least expect them.  This is the case with FAIRtax-er Harold Radke of Pine Island, Minnesota.  Harold found out a political activist was coming to speak at a local church and didn’t let the opportunity go to waste to promote The FAIRtax.

Harold quickly gathered together his literature and a screen display.  Pictured here is Harold’s setup at the entry to the event in Zumbro Community Church in Zumbro Falls, Minnesota.

Harold reports people going to the event streamed past the table, but on the way out, they started engaging.

Harold says he isn’t clear about when he first heard about The FAIRtax, but he recently remembers hearing Texas Senator Ted Cruz mention it.

Both Harold and his Son were pilots of business aircraft.  Harold recalls flying Mike Huckabee once.  Harold says the accountant for the business once had to redo the taxes, which was disruptive.

In addition to being a pilot, Harold interfaces perhaps mostly with the IRS because he is also a Farmer.  In this role Harold deals with a tangled web of tax issues. In addition to Harold, another surprise came out of Minnesota this week by way of our Alabama Team Leader, Chuck Bailey.  Through Chuck, we found out there is a state-level FAIRtax bill winding its way through the Minnesota House Of Representatives.  The bill is HF2861, and the sponsor is Rep. Steve Drazkowski Legislative District 21B.
