MEET OUR NEW MARYLAND FAIRTAX LEADER, DAVID WEBBER
Sometimes we rediscover enthusiastic FAIRtax supporters who have been with us for years. So, we take pleasure in announcing that David Webber of Damascus, Maryland, has agreed to assume leadership of the Maryland FAIRtax organization. David will replace Mark Schaff, who has moved to South Carolina.
David had been a frequent contributor to a Yahoo bulletin board called FAIRTAX_DD until Yahoo took its bulletin boards down. Then at the beginning of July, Adam Yomtov, our Volunteer for IT and Donations thanked David for moving his monthly contribution from PayPal to our main processor. The two struck up a conversation, and we learned of David’s extensive professional technology experience.
And extensive it is! Working in Europe, David was the lead architect for the original European Union (“EU”)-funded value-added tax (“VAT”) computerization project. The Big Four public accounting firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers used that work as the foundation of their application solution for the EU.
David says the VAT system is the ultimate in taxation complexity. The VAT system in the EU is the poster child for the arcane bureaucracy that stifles productivity. According to David, the VAT highlights why the FAIRtax will be such an empowerment of Individuals across the globe led by the USA. He notes The FAIRtax is a practical and proven simple consumption tax system.
David sees The FAIRtax as more than just a simpler and fairer system of taxation. He believes it can transform our lives for the good by creating a better society focused on empowering Individuals, not only in America but globally. Remember, The Founding Fathers were seeking to create a government that would allow its citizens the maximum degree of personal freedom and liberty.
David also has extensive experience in non-profit organizations. His talents include creating open standards for commerce, publishing, healthcare, hospitals, emergency response, cybersecurity, courts, insurance, finance, and elections.
David is a passionate bike rider and local racer. His maxim is: keep things simple in life - ride a bike. David has lived in Maryland for 35 years, but he has traveled to and worked with 42 States and counting.
I would love to hear from you about FAIRtax supporters like David, who might become potential leaders in your state.
