News from your state
Adam and Patricia Yomtov
Volunteer website/database manager and payment processor Adam Yomtov has brought our news articles to a new level.
Political Media, our website and database host, has been snagging news articles about taxes and posting them for years. The articles supplement our recurring original content of Chairman's Reports, FAIRtax Guys podcasts, and Grassroots Corners, and the articles help draw traffic to our site.
However, most of the articles are aimed at a broad, general audience and may not be of interest to FAIRtax supporters looking for information that’s pertinent to their individual state. So, Adam had an idea. When an article does mention one or more particular states, we can attach state tags to it. Then, we can have a section of our website dedicated to each state. When a user selects a particular state, all the articles that are tagged for that state are available in one place. That makes our website a more useful resource and more people would be drawn to it.
Adam turned his idea into action. So, now visitors to our website can look up tax news for their states. To see tax news for your state, go to “Get Involved” ➔ “State Initiatives.” You will come to a page titled "States." Scroll down to a section labeled "State Pages," and click on your state. You will come to a page with your state's name. At the bottom of the page is a table listing articles, including each article’s date, title, and source. The reader can choose whether to view the list from ten articles at a time up to one hundred at a time. So far, no state has one hundred tax articles, but if any state should reach that number, the oldest would start to drop off.
So far, we have articles for California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
We owe a big “thank you” to Adam for organizing these articles by state and look forward to seeing many more.
Adam and his wife, Patricia, live in Elmsford, New York. Patricia is from Colombia, and Adam is fluent in Spanish.
I would love to hear if you find any articles with tax news for your state. If you have any, please send them to Adam Yomtov at iwanttaxreform@gmail.com.
