We need you in Florida in February.
You can meet everybody who’s anybody in the center-right of American politics at the Conservative Political Action Conference (“CPAC”) in Orlando, Florida, on February 24-27, 2022. You can also make yourself visible to a large contingent of media people. While meeting these VIP’s, you can help spread the FAIRtax “Take Back Control” message to people who need to hear it and who have the power to move the idea forward.
FAIRtax, of course, is politically neutral and does not support or oppose political candidates, political parties, or political philosophies. And you do not need to be a conservative to help FAIRtax by being at CPAC. But CPAC is a rare chance to grow our profile.
Here is the plan. Simply put, we need as many people as possible walking around wearing something that promotes the FAIRtax. Ideally, every time a politician or media person looks up, they see the FAIRtax message.
To that end, we will not have a booth in the exhibition/vendor area. Buying a booth is expensive, and the vendor area is located well away from most of the action. Instead, we will mix and mingle with people near the main auditorium and along Broadcast Row. We will hand out printed material, answer questions and generally try to make the FAIRtax as visible as possible to everyone attending—especially the politicians and the media.
Last year, that strategy worked fairly well. We caught Florida Congressman Byron Donalds, who later became a cosponsor of the FAIRtax. The FAIRtax Guys also got good interviews with Kat Cammack, who represents Florida's Third District, and Allen Waters who is running in Rhode Island’s First District. Plus, they introduced Rubin Young to the FAIRtax. Young is running in Florida-23. At the time, he had never heard of the FAIRtax, but became a pledge signer just two months later after attending a candidate workshop in Las Vegas.
So, the opportunity is definitely there. We just need greater numbers than we had last year. Here’s how you can help:
- Register early by going to https://cpac.conservative.org. Scroll down to “General Admission,” and click “Register Now.” The registration fee is $295 for general admission and $50 for students. The cost will have to be on you. We do not have the budget to reimburse registrations or other expenses.
When you complete these steps, CPAC will send you materials to complete your registration for the conference.
Here’s what we know. We think the venue will be the Hotel Rosen Shingle Creek, 9939 Universal Boulevard, Orlando, Florida 32819 (407) 996-9939, www.rosenshinglecreek.com.
We will be tapping Mike Simmons for handouts, materials and gear. Mike runs the FAIRtax Store.
As we know more about the arrangements, we will give them to you through emails, future Grassroots Corners, FAIRtax Power Radio, and other methods of communication.
It’s not too early to start planning! Please register now and let Bob know.
Do you know of any events like CPAC? If so, I would love to hear from you.
