Advisory Board
In the April 11, 2022, Grassroots Corner, we announced plans to form an Advisory Board to give us much-needed visibility. The Advisory Board is now a reality.
Go to https://fairtax.org/board-of-advisors to see who they are. We presently have four members, chaired by former Arkansas Governor and show host Mike Huckabee. You will see Mike on our landing page when you go to our website. The others are:
Former Congressman and original bill sponsor, John Linder. Linder represented the Seventh Congressional District of Georgia. During that time, he met the leadership of Americans for Fair Taxation and sponsored the FAIRtax.
Professor David Kendall. Professor Kendall earned his Ph.D. in economics from North Carolina State University and is currently a Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Virginia at Wise. He was Dean of the School of Business at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas, and Chief Economist for Empire Funding Corporation, also of Austin. While a senior economist with RTI International, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, Dr. Kendall led numerous applied economics research projects for the United States Food and Drug Administration, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Larry North. Larry is now an operating partner at Satori Capital, a Texas-based multi-strategy investment firm founded on the principles of conscious capitalism. Larry considers his relationship with Satori a continuation of his lifelong focus on impacting and enriching the lives of others. Until 2018, Larry was an advisor and managing director at Ryan, LLC, one of the largest tax practices in the United States.

So, what is the role of the Advisory Board? First, the Advisory Board is separate from the regular working board of Americans for Fair Taxation. Advisory Board members do not participate in day-to-day activities.
Advisory Board Members are leaders in their fields. They can often open doors to decision-makers and funding sources we need help accessing. We ask Advisory Board members to be available to consult with us or talk with someone in their field. Sometimes we may ask them to participate in some fashion or give their input on an idea. Finally, we ask that Advisory Board members have a working knowledge of the FAIRtax.
We look forward to welcoming more members to the Advisory Board. I would love to hear from you if you have a candidate.
