MEMORIAL DAY
After a long pandemic, FAIRtax is getting out in front of the public again. On Monday, May 30, 2022, the first Summit, New Jersey Memorial Day Parade in a couple of years was held and the FAIRtax was there. Here are the participants.
Left to right: Victor Alberigi (Chatham NJ), Ed Coda (Summit NJ with his sons Vince and Luke), Nancy Nubel (Chatham NJ), and Jim Bennett (Summit NJ).
Interestingly, Ed Coda, pictured, came to us because he saw us at a street fair a couple of years earlier. His interest apparently went dormant for a while but recently reawakened. Ed has a financial background and has been reviewing the available economic studies. The studies need updating, but their methodologies are still helpful. Ed has also been getting on our Zoom conferences.
Meanwhile in Florida, Paul Livingston and Manny Salinas have been returning to Orange Park, Florida, where they have seen success in harvesting names for our database. By the time this goes to press, they will have participated in an event on Sunday June 5.

In New Jersey, we are looking into having a table and canopy at several more events this year. By the time this issue goes to press, we will have had a table and canopy at Gloucester Township Day on June 4, thanks to FAIRtax volunteers Doug Dash and Jerry McManus. If we do not have to pay an excessive fee, we are looking into a local event on July 4. In addition, we have signed up for other events in Cranford, NJ, on August 28, Bound Brook, NJ, on September 24, and New Providence, NJ, on October 30.
Grassroots activity is how we will get the FAIRtax over the finish line. We encourage you to appear at events in your communities. Please order your promotional gear at the FAIRtax store: https://fairtaxstore.org/.
Gathering names and email addresses at events is essential, and the more information you can get, the better. A physical address is especially helpful. That tells us which Congressional district a person resides in. Please send any information you can gather to our database manager, Adam Yomtov, at iwanttaxreform@gmail.com. When the names go into our database, inquirers start to receive our emails. It’s this repeated exposure to the FAIRtax message that makes the idea sink in.
If you’re planning to represent the FAIRtax at a public event, liability insurance coverage is available to you at no cost. However, this essential coverage is not automatic. I need to know the what-when-where ahead of time in order to make the proper arrangements with our insurance carrier. You can email the details of your event to me at Jim.Bennett@fairtax.org, or call or text to (908) 578-4975.
When your event is over, PLEASE send me a short report and PICTURES. I would love to feature your events in a future Grassroots Corner.
