FAIRtax Poetry

  This week, we thank FAIRtax-er Roz Miller from Florida for her contribution to FAIRtax culture. You have heard the FAIRtax song by Banks and Shane at the beginning of each episode of FAIRtax Power Radio. Now we have FAIRtax verse. Here is Roz’s creative piece:
A baby is born with great debt before his first cry,
Federal deficit spending is the reason why.
 
They tax my car, truck, tires and gas,
Even the britches covering my ass.
 
You are taxed for the booze you drink,
Next, you’ll be taxed for what you think.
 
Workers are taxed on the income they earn,
So; the Feds have more dollars to burn.
 
We are taxed per an income bracket,
Taxing income is a Federal Racket.
 
The taxman wields the financial axe,
When they collect the federal income tax.
 
It’s smarter, fairer to tax the dollars we spend,
Everyone pays; dealers, tourists and friend.
 
Pay the tax when you shop,
Fraudulent claims then would stop.
 
Income tax is a money sucking hose,
FairTax would cure our federal taxing woes.
   
The last line particularly is so true, Roz!

About the author (from the book):
   
Roz Miller a fourth generation Floridian, is a written and oral storyteller, a free-lance writer, a poet, an award-winning competitive speaker, member of Toastmasters since 1987. She is also an accomplished visual artist of bold, acrylic abstracts and mixed-media on canvas and watercolors. The cover art of Trail of Tales is inspired by one of her abstract paintings.
 
We are lucky to have Roz among us.
