MEET JAKE BUSCHER

Talented and enthusiastic volunteers like Jake Buscher, who are willing to step up and serve the FAIRtax cause, are not something you find every day.
Jake lives in Waynesboro, Virginia, with his wife, Christina, and their young son, David. He owns and operates a small construction company specializing in building single-family homes. Jake also hosts a podcast called Cutting the Gordian Knot, which covers topics in philosophy, theology, and economics. You can listen to the episodes here https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/cutting-the-gordian-knot/id1596302163. Additionally, Jake serves as the catechist at his local church.
Recently Jake, a long time advocate of consumption taxes, has enthusiastically joined the FAIRtax team. After extensive research, he became a strong proponent of retail-level sales taxes like the FAIRtax.
In the past, Jake has been a vocal advocate for school choice initiatives, consumption taxes, and other policy reforms, focusing primarily at the state level. He even served as an economic advisor for a small political campaign. Beyond advocacy, Jake regularly reviews papers and books, assists speakers with debate preparation, and eagerly lends a hand to those pursuing impactful work.
Jake sees the FAIRtax as an incredible opportunity for transformative change that would benefit countless people. He notes that the government has three main domestic functions: collecting money, spending money, and regulating. While reforming the latter two requires careful consideration of individual areas of spending and regulation, the FAIRtax offers a unique opportunity to radically improve one-third of government operations. By creating a tax system that supports growth, innovation, hard work, and savings while dramatically simplifying the tax code, the FAIRtax would be a game-changer.
At a time when faith in government is at an all-time low and many on the left doubt that meaningful progress can emerge from the current administration, the opportunity to implement the FAIRtax and spur remarkable economic growth should not be overlooked.
Jake will be leading our effort in Virginia and playing a national role. He recently met with Congress Member Ben Cline, VA-06, about getting his support for the FAIRtax. Jake also had a great conversation with former Chief economist for the White House Office of Management and Budget, Vance Ginn. Ginn is supportive of the FAIRtax, and he may be able to open doors to chat with more influential people. Ginn also offered to give Jake a hand in writing an op-ed to raise support for the FairTax.
Jake is available to represent us in Washington, D.C., when needed.
I would love to hear from you if you know anyone like Jake.
