Our Busy California Team
Since retiring from the City of San Francisco and moving to the Sacramento area, our California leader and board member, Marty Sturmer, has been traveling around the state for the FAIRtax.
Recently, Marty joined fellow FAIRtax supporter Frank Wagoner to spend four hours at San Jose State University, a few miles South of the bottom of the San Francisco Peninsula, passing out 250 palm cards and holding signs. The two enjoyed good weather. Palm cards are available for free with free shipping from the FAIRtax Store, https://fairtaxstore.org/. Mike Simmons in Jacksonville, Florida, ftmike27@gmail.com, will take care of you.
That evening, Marty attended the Liberty Forum of Silicon Valley in nearby Mountain View. This organization hosts a monthly forum of prominent speakers who discuss our country’s founding principles and how they apply today. Marty had tried unsuccessfully to get a table there, but that did not disappointment or deter him. Marty stood by the exits and passed out 100 more palm cards.
Some days later, Marty drove over 400 miles to the California Republican Convention in Anaheim, near Los Angeles. There, he had a booth and got an encouraging response. He passed out 1,200 more palm cards and reported answering many questions and making many contacts. Many signed up. Sign-ups are important because they go to our database administrator, Adam Yomtov, for entry into the national database. The registrants receive Steve Hayes’ weekly Chairman’s Reports, notices of FAIRtax Guys podcasts, and these Grassroots Corners. These communications continuously expose the registrant to the FAIRtax so that it’s never out of sight, out of mind. Adam can also provide state leaders with a database pull for their states.
Marty Sturmer and his California team are doing exactly what we want our leaders and volunteers to do. Grassroots activity such as Marty’s is what will bring the FAIRtax over the finish line.
I would love to hear about your activity and put it in a future Grassroots Corner. Don’t be discouraged if you cannot put as much time and effort into your state as Marty has. I still want to hear about what you’re doing.

CALL FOR PICTURES AND WRITEUPS
We need more of you to send in pictures and news. If you have something to share, please send your material to me, jim.bennett@fairtax.org, (908) 578-4975, or fax (908) 598-2888. When others see your activity, they are inspired, and the process snowballs. When the process snowballs, Congress Members, Senators, and even the President start to listen.
