MEET CANDIDATE AND PLEDGE SIGNER STEVEN ELLIOTT - PT. 2
There’s another Congressional candidate who has signed the FAIRtax pledge, and he just won his Republican Primary to take on a well-known Democrat. Steven Elliott, running in the 12th Congressional District of Michigan, became the latest candidate to sign the FAIRtax Pledge.
We found out about this pledge through an alert from Brian Graham of Americana Advisors in Jacksonville, Florida. Brian consults for several political campaigns and has succeeded in collecting signatures on FAIRtax pledge forms.
Elliott is running on a platform of less crime, more jobs, a secure border, better education, quality healthcare, strong defense, and – of course – the FAIRtax.
Born in Windsor, Ontario, Steven Elliott’s father was a Canadian construction worker, and his mother was an American secretary. Steven says he started working at age 12 and never stopped. He mowed lawns, bagged groceries, washed dishes, fried chicken, cooked at a bowling alley, and caddied at a local golf club.
Steven joined the Marines out of high school and served a stint at our southern border. Following his discharge from the Marines, and after a few other jobs, Steven took out a loan and started a chain of successful businesses.
Steven defeated James Hooper and Hassan Nehme in his Republican primary. We do not know what Hooper’s and Nehme’s positions were on the FAIRtax. Steven will now go up against Democrat Rashida Tlaib in the general election on November 8, 2022. Tlaib defeated Mykale “Kelly” Garrett, Shanelle Jackson, and Janice Winfrey in the Democratic primary. We do not know their positions on the FAIRtax.
FAIRtax does not endorse political candidates, but it does educate supporters and the public where candidates stand on the FAIRtax.
I would love to hear from you about your efforts to have a candidate in your Congressional district pledge to support the FAIRtax.
