MEET DAVID MORELLI
Meet our Arkansas FAIRtax State Leader, David Morelli.
David became a FAIRtax fan while listening to the Neal Boortz radio show in the 2000s. After listening to Boortz outline the legislation and its potential effects on the economy and society, David bought The Fair Tax Book and absorbed it from cover to cover. He did as much online research as he could, furthering his knowledge on the topic. As more books related to the FAIRtax were released, he continued his self-education by devouring those, as well.
Once comfortable with his knowledge of the topic, David began his public speaking engagements. He has spoken to over a thousand people in five states.
After joining the FAIRtax organization, David became the State Leader for his current home state of Arkansas. Utilizing his passion for writing and training, he is now developing training materials for potential speakers for the FAIRtax. David understands the importance of a nationwide effort by local speakers to reach out to constituents and increase the citizenry's awareness of the FAIRtax. He looks forward to helping move the FAIRtax legislation into the national spotlight.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, David has spent the majority of the last 40 years in management in the insurance industry, overseeing Medical Claims and Customer Service. He is currently a Claims Trainer for Personify Health. He has also been in the restaurant industry since 1988, working in management in that field. There have been several occasions when he worked in both at the same time! He won five consecutive bartending national championships from 1990-1994.
David also hosted his own radio show for a short time in Memphis. He frequently discussed politics and attempted to bridge the gaps between the political parties in the hope of finding common ground to move local legislation forward.
He is a member of two high-IQ groups: Mensa and The International Society for Philosophical Enquiry. He is also an admissions proctor for Mensa and an editor for the ISPE member publication Telicom.
David has been married to his wife Angela since 2005. They live in Benton, Arkansas, a suburb south of Little Rock. They have five cats.
