Dear North Carolina FAIRtax'ers,
The FAIRtax table was very busy during the June 9-11th North Carolina GOP Convention and there were many great questions from the attendees prompting good discussions. I am so grateful for those who traveled from other states to help with the table and participate in those conversations. We had a good time working together.
We spoke privately with several North Carolina legislators and Candidates about The FAIRtax and the necessity for North Carolina to end its income tax and there was good interest in the idea.
We set up an interview with Steve Hayes with "The Tribune Papers", a well regarded publication in Asheville and in the western part of North Carolina. Much of the paper’s distribution encompasses the former congressional district of Mark Meadows who was a co-sponsor of H.R. 25 The FAIRtax in the 113th (2013-14) & 114th (2015-16) Congresses. We’ll send out another email once the story prints.
Jeff Minch, a North Carolina FAIRtaxer and fundraiser, arranged for Steve Hayes to be interviewed by Alex Baltzegar of "Carolina Journal" which is our state’s most prominent conservative media outlet. Titled "Are Americans taxed unfairly?", the Carolina Journal will put it out on all their social media platforms, website, etc. so this is great exposure for Americans For Fair Taxation.
