As we move into October, the Republican candidates will be increasing their solicitation for the golden milk of politics—money. All of them know that the next few months will be an endurance race to the February Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary.
As the candidates send letters and emails asking for donations, the temptation is to ignore the letters or emails. However, we have an opportunity to respond to the emails and letters and let the candidates know that we will consider financially supporting their candidacies if they are willing to answer some questions.
If they have proposed some form of “flat” income tax, here are some questions that you can ask:
• Since the 1986 Tax Reform Act, there have been in excess of 16,000 changes. How can we feel comfortable the same thing will not happen with your proposal?
• Do you know that your plan keeps the IRS?
• Are you in favor of requiring income tax returns?
• Are you in favor of the IRS?
• How does your proposal address the growing income tax evasion problem?
• Is your proposal border adjustable?
• How does your proposal change the incentives for companies to move jobs overseas?
• How are you going to insure the solvency of the Social Security system?
• Do you know that your plan keeps the IRS?
• Are you in favor of requiring income tax returns?
• Are you in favor of the IRS?
• How does your proposal address the growing income tax evasion problem?
• Is your proposal border adjustable?
• How does your proposal change the incentives for companies to move jobs overseas?
• How are you going to insure the solvency of the Social Security system?
If the candidate has not proposed a tax plan, here are some questions that you can ask:
• Are you in favor of keeping the IRS?
• Are you in favor of requiring income tax returns?
• How are you going to address the growing income tax evasion problem?
• How are you going to address the border-adjustable problems of the current income tax system?
• How are you going to change the incentives for companies to move jobs overseas?
• How are you going to insure the solvency of the Social Security system?
Then you can suggest that if they want to receive a contribution from you, they should support a tax reform that actually addresses and answers each of the above questions in the most efficient way. This is the FAIRtax.
Will They Respond or Listen?
If only a few of us respond to the candidates in this manner, most of the candidates will ignore the questions. However, if enough of us ask the above questions, then word will be spread to all the candidates. Even a large volume of these questions may not move the candidates to support the FAIRtax, but it will ensure that they know they will not get a “free pass” when they mouth the platitudes of false tax reform.
More and more people realize that these proposals for “tax reform” are really just false promises and it is time that the candidates and D.C. realize that people are waking up.
October Washington Trip
We are planning a trip to D.C. the last week in October. We really need your help in obtaining meetings with Members.

FAIRtax Power Radio
Whether you’re a FAIRtax volunteer or an informed citizen who wishes to be better informed, we encourage you to listen to FAIRtax Power Radio, the online radio show that is available when you are. The FAIRtax Guys discuss and analyze the problems with the current income tax system and the best replacement, the FAIRtax. FTPR is FREE to the listener on two different websites - SoundCloud (http://bit.ly/1KNsOof) and YouTube (http://bit.ly/1PZUFVU).
AFFT National LOGO Store and Scrolling Signs
Going into the primary system, it is even more important that all of us have FAIRtax signs that we can bring to political rallies. Many venues will not allow us to bring signs attached to metal or wood holders. That is why Rudy Treml designed and had printed the scrolling FAIRtax signs. Visit our National Store at www.fairtaxlogostore.org and purchase some Personal FAIRtax℠ Scrolling Handheld Event signs.
It is a handheld scrolling event sign printed in color on both sides with our new logo. When folded up, this banner is only 2” x 9” but opens up to a 27” x 9” presentation
which self-retracts. It is ideal for all political events and easily fits in a pocket, jacket or purse when not in use. To see a picture of this banner please click here.
Thank You For Opening The FAIRtax Chronicles, Our Sponsored Mailings
We plan to do several of these mailings each month. If you take a minute to open the sponsored emails and click through to the website, you are making an in kind contribution to AFFT. It is not required to actually make a purchase, but your minute of time will ensure that AFFT is paid ever larger amounts from people paying for us to send their offers to our supporters.
Again, we are making every effort to ensure that we work with only reputable companies. If you feel that any FAIRtax-sponsored email is objectionable, please email us at info@fairtax.org and tell us why. You can also opt to not receive these sponsored email messages but still receive FAIRtax emails.
Thank you for staying FairTax strong!
