FAIRtax Social

Sometimes we need to think outside the box to keep FAIRtax-ers engaged and bring in new supporters. FAIRtax-er Victor Alberigi had an idea: have a Pre-Thanksgiving FAIRtax Social.

Thanksgiving marks the start of the holiday party season.  If people are going to be getting together for Thanksgiving, Hannukah and Christmas, why not have a FAIRtax-themed get-together as well?

As a member of the Summit New Jersey Elks Lodge, Victor got the space for free. We reached into our own pockets to buy plastic utensils, paper plates, pizza, and non-alcoholic drinks. For those who wanted more adult beverages, there was a bar one floor up where they could buy what they wanted. We brought banners and signs to let everyone know who we were.

We put the word out on our email lists and social media. For example, New Jersey FAIRtax has a Facebook page that Randy Fischer in Ocala, Florida maintains. He posts national items to it, but we also have privileges to upload our local postings.

Pictured above are (partially hidden) Christine Bennett and Victor Alberigi, (back row) Republican activist Jeff Goldstein, former New Jersey Assembly Candidate Jon Sym, FAIRtax Grassroots Director Jim Bennett, and FAIRtax Advisory Board Member Tom “Sarge” Haschuk, (foreground), Summit New Jersey Councilwoman Lisa Allen.

Jon Sym is an excellent active prospect for FAIRtax. Thank you, Victor Alberigi, for introducing Jon and bringing him to the get-together. Jon is a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve and Chief of Staff for special operations in Africa. Jon also studied at Harvard and started a biometrics business from the ground up. He recently sold the business and retired in his mid-fifties.

We sent invitations to several local political organizations – both Democrats and Republicans. We got a number of Republicans to attend. But unfortunately, we did not hear from any Democrats.

Although New Jersey is a small state geographically, it’s still too big for all New Jersey FAIRtax supporters to attend a single get-together and get home at a reasonable hour.  Consequently, we hope that this inaugural event will inspire people in other parts of New Jersey, and in other states around the country, to organize their own FAIRtax social events.

Let me know if you have put on a FAIRtax-themed social event. We would love to feature it.

Help FAIRtax Become The Number One Issue in 2024

Enacting the FAIRtax must be a prominent topic in these times. We did it before, we can do it again, but we need your help!

Help out with a One-Time Contribution

Your gift of $25, $50, $100 – even $1,000 or more if you can possibly spare it – will help FAIRtax.org bring an end to the IRS and promote a FAIRtax. So, I urge you, please give as generously as you can.
